Angel

Created by producer Jess Oppenheimer as a sequel to his huge success with "I Love Lucy" starring Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, Angel juxtaposed the characters to an American husband with a French Wife. Annie Fargé, a petite mademoiselle from Paris, co-stars with Marshall Thompson (John) in this domestic comedy series. Angel tries hard to be the perfect wife, but her difficulty with the English language always gets her in trouble with hubby coming to the rescue. As Thompson aptly describes it " Annie makes natural mistakes with the language and they invariably end up as the biggest laughs in the episode. The funny thing is, that, when I try and defend the English language, I find, it's a lost cause. Our writers have it easy!". The show also starred Doris Singleton and Don Keefer. Angel was shot before a live audience and debuted in the fall of 1960.
