A Yank in Viet-Nam

Marine Major Benson, stationed in South Vietnam, is taken prisoner by the Vietcong after his helicopter is shot down. Meanwhile, a hospital is attacked, Dr. The captured, and his wife killed. Andre, a mute whose life Dr. The has saved, and the doctor's daughter set out on a rescue mission with a small band of guerrillas.
On the way they rescue Benson, who falls in love with the young woman. Eventually, the doctor is saved, but Andre is killed in a Vietcong attack. Later, when paratroopers arrive to rescue them, only Benson, Dr. The, and his daughter have survived.
